SAULO SILVEIRA

Saulo Silveira was born in 1950 in João Pinheiro, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Growing up surrounded by rivers, forests, and rural landscapes, he developed a deep connection with nature that would later influence his artistic language.

In the 1970s, Silveira expanded his career in Rio de Janeiro, collaborating with advertising agencies as an illustrator and designer. This experience sharpened his skills in drawing, color, and composition, though painting remained his true passion. His artistic path became more defined when he relocated to Lisbon, Portugal, in 1990, initially continuing in illustration before gradually moving toward a full commitment to fine arts.

His paintings are distinguished by vibrant colors, gestural brushstrokes, and strong textures, often merging abstraction with subtle figurative elements. Silveira’ s paintings are part of both private and public collections in Portugal, France, Germany, Belgium, and other European countries, as well as in the United States and Brazil. His work is celebrated for its energy, spontaneity, and powerful sense of visual rhythm.
